Scripture: From everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear him. Psalm 103:17
Observation: God’s love is not seasonal. It is not tied to quarters, markets, or outcomes. It stretches beyond my timeline, beyond my business lifecycle, beyond my best and worst days. His love rests on those who fear Him, those who orient their lives around Him with reverence and obedience.
Application: I often say I care about legacy more than short term wins. But if I am honest, my calendar exposes me.
There have been seasons when I chased growth at the expense of presence at home. I justified late nights and constant Slack pings as necessary for the mission. I told myself it was just for a season. But seasons stack up. And what I consistently chose revealed what I truly feared and valued.
This verse pulls me back to alignment. From everlasting to everlasting is a long horizon. God is playing an infinite game. As a builder and leader, I am tempted to play a very short one.
The character trait this presses into me is faithfulness. Not flash. Not speed. Faithfulness.
Faithfulness shows up in small, repeated decisions. It means I build systems that reflect integrity even when no customer would notice the shortcut. It means I tell a client the truth about timeline and cost instead of smoothing it over to close the deal. It means I protect time with my wife and kids with the same intensity I protect a board meeting.
I remember a product launch where we were behind and cash was tight. We could have quietly reduced the scope of what we promised. Most customers would not have known. But we had publicly committed. I felt the pressure in my chest. Choosing faithfulness cost us margin that quarter. But it built trust that still pays dividends today.
If God’s love stretches from everlasting to everlasting, then I can afford to lead that way. I do not have to squeeze every opportunity dry. I do not have to compromise character for short term optics. I can fear Him more than I fear missing a number.
Leadership is not revealed by what I say I value. It is revealed by what I repeatedly choose. If I truly believe His love spans eternity, then my daily actions should reflect eternal priorities.
Prayer: Lord, anchor my heart in what lasts. Teach me to fear You more than I fear outcomes. Help me choose faithfulness in the small decisions today. Align my leadership with Your everlasting love.
