Scripture: I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28
Observation: Jesus speaks with certainty about security. Eternal life is not fragile or conditional. The grip that matters most is His, not mine. This verse is not about avoiding risk. It is about knowing who holds the outcome when I step into it.
Application: I like guarantees. In business, I look for clear signals before I commit. Signed contracts. Forecasted revenue. A little proof that the next step will work.
But some of the most important decisions I have made did not come with certainty. I remember launching a product when we had just enough cash for a few months. The data was incomplete. The team was tired. Waiting for perfect clarity would have meant never shipping at all. I had to move forward without the guarantees I wanted.
This verse reminds me that my leadership is not ultimately secured by my planning. It is secured by His hand. That does not make me reckless. It makes me faithful.
Faithfulness is the character trait I come back to here. Faithfulness is not dramatic. It is steady obedience when the outcome is still blurry. It shows up when I make the hard call to invest in a hire before the workload is overwhelming. It shows up when I choose honest marketing over inflated promises, even if growth is slower. It shows up when I keep my word to my wife and kids after a long day, instead of hiding behind more work.
Jesus does not promise that no one will challenge me, criticize me, or compete with me. He promises that no one can snatch me out of His hand. That frees me to lead without fear driving every decision. I can build systems with wisdom, steward finances carefully, and still act when faith is required.
In practice, this means I can stop waiting for absolute certainty before taking the next right step. I can pray, seek counsel, do the work of thinking clearly, and then move. The security of my life and calling does not depend on flawless execution. It depends on who is holding me.
That truth has changed how I lead under pressure. It has helped me release control when outcomes are uncertain and focus instead on obedience, integrity, and care for the people entrusted to me.
Prayer: Lord, remind me that my security rests in Your hand. Help me lead with faithfulness when certainty is not available. Give me courage to take the next right step without fear. Teach me to trust You more than my plans. Amen.
