Build With God

Faithfulness God Remembers

Faithfulness God Remembers thumbnail
Scripture:
God...will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Hebrews 6:10

Observation:
God sees continuity. He notices work done over time, not just moments. Love shows up in help that keeps going, even when no one is clapping.

Application:
I feel the tension between what I say matters and what my calendar proves I value. This verse steadies me because it names faithfulness as something God remembers. Not outcomes. Not applause. Work and love that continue.

A few years ago, in the middle of scaling a product, I was buried in bugs, support tickets, and cash flow pressure. Every day felt reactive. I told myself I cared about people, but most days I chose speed over care. I skipped the one on one. I rushed a decision that affected a teammate’s family. Nothing blew up, but something eroded. Me.

This verse reminds me that leadership is revealed by what I consistently choose to help with. God ties work to love. Not big vision statements, but daily decisions that serve people. The customer I respond to with patience. The employee I coach instead of replace. The spouse I listen to when my brain wants to solve.

The character trait I need here is faithfulness. Faithfulness looks boring on a spreadsheet. It looks like showing up again to the unglamorous work. It looks like building systems that protect people, not just profit. It looks like honest marketing that tells the truth even if it slows growth. It looks like paying bills on time and keeping promises when it costs me.

I have learned that long term outcomes are shaped by short term priorities repeated. If I want a culture of trust, I have to practice trust today. If I want a healthy marriage, I have to choose presence tonight. If I want a company that serves, I have to help people when it is inconvenient.

God will not forget that. That frees me from chasing visibility. I can focus on consistency. I can choose the next right help, trusting that God is keeping score in a different way than the market.

Prayer:
Lord, you see my work and the love behind it.
Help me choose faithfulness in small decisions today.
Align my priorities with what actually serves people.
Give me patience to keep helping when results feel slow.
Amen.
